Real Estate Vilcabamba Ecuador - Rio Uchima - Quinta 17



Read First Special note: this quinta was "sold" (i.e. in exchange for a letter of debt) to an Ecuadorian local resident for a community project which unfortunately had to be shelved. It is now for sale. The new owner has made great vegetable gardens and orchard (mangos, avocados, citrus, bananas). The land offers an elevated building site away from the river (similar to Q1 building site), easy road access, power and river water supply. This info supersedes what is written on this page below.

Just like Q14, Q17 is a secluded riverfront paradise.It is accessed via a short road the beginning of which is shared by Q15.



Q17 has two building sites:

  • the first building site is located by the river right at the end of the driveway on the western side of the quinta. This building site is not big, suitable for a small to medium house (e.g. 70-100 sqm). It is located right next to the plantation. 
  • the second site is larger and located on the eastern part of the quinta (right side on the map indicated "Reservado"). Due to recent changes after this web page was first published, this second building site is no longer part of the Q17which is under contract. It is reserved for a possible future extension of Q17. The first photo on this page is a photo of the second building site taken from the other side of the river, the site is secluded and nested among large trees.  It has no car access but it is however easy to reach the second building site on foot from the end of the road via a 50 m footpath. If desired, this footpath can be widened or converted into a wooden walkway which would be a stunning feature.

Below are the main features of Q17:

  • absolute riverfront living - the public road is on the other side of the river, so there is nothing between Q17 and the river
  • 2 building sites, private and separate (one house would not see or hear the other one).
  • no risk of flooding: both building sites are significantly higher than the water level and located in an area that is not subject to flooding.
  • access via private driveway through Q15 (not for sale)
  • beach, swimming hole
  • lots of trees
  • abundance of the purest drinking water on earth

Regarding possible interferences between Q14 and Q17 it must be noted that the area between them is a vertical cliff and that there is no visibility of one from any part of the other.
